The roots of Unlikelihoods lie in most of a life spent as an excited (sometimes delirious) esteemer of things written, drawn, played, painted, filmed, and otherwise humanely felt, thought, and resolutely expressed. The twist here is that while I’ve spent enormous quantities of time in acts of appreciation, I have somehow finally found myself compelled by envy, curiosity, and a touch of belief to engage in a few acts of construction.

I have left brief notes throughout the site to provide a bit more detail on specific work, and for the really interested I’ve written more in this preface.

I received my schooling in English and History at U.C. Berkeley some time ago. If they would let me (alas, they seem unwilling), I’d return in a heartbeat to a scholastic happily ever after.

My visual training has come almost wholly osmotically; a life of kinship, close friendship and admiration for dedicated and very talented drawers, painters, and teachers. This effort and these works are wholly and fondly dedicated to them.

I do hope you’ll have a brief and perhaps even lingering look about. I’m always happy to talk about all this, so do send a note here if you would like to write or even speak with me.
