First and most foremost, Welcome…
I have setup viewing areas here for each of the three material ‘substrates’ I work with:
Termited Wood - partially consumed found forest wood
Wooden Spheres - assembled spheres modeled by magnets
Impressionable Foam - foam bricks impressed by various objects
Each has a brief associated story posted atop the entry pages. There is also a bit more said about whys and wherefores here. And, I’m building a verbal sister to all this on Substack located here.
This all began a short while ago, but seed collecting had been going on for years. I can offer here but few fragments of explanation for what you see. The first is repeatedly being struck utterly dumb in the act of looking. Such kinds of looking have long led me toward closer noticing, but then for some reason this time (unlike so many others), it charged into a sort of insistent, imagining wish to act on the possible. The looking and wishing then attached themselves to three core objects (I call them substrates), and some tiny, funny little people, pigments, and other charms from the world of model railroading.
And so there you sort of have it. It seems that wishing has become acting and I have stumbled into what Bob Dylan sang is ‘my lo and behold’.
