Termited pine, craft birch, model figurines, dry pigments

The termites left this wood in very strange shape, even for them. I’ve seen similar forms in Utah rocks, and part of my wish here became to mingle the wood’s remains with those rock’s shapes and colors.

Also named for a large rock formation in Capitol Reef park, Utah. Here’s a satellite view of the improbable Wolverine Bench. It stands several hundred feet above the surrounding basin, which resembles a kind of layer cake frosted in reds, oranges, purples and greens.
